HISTORY: The earliest known wingsuit was created in 1912 by a 33-year-old French tailor, named Franz Reichelt. His plan was to deploy a parachute from the Eiffel Tower, but his suit failed to glide and he was killed on impact. First known fatality. In 1930, 19-year-old Rex Finney from Los Angeles, California, created a wingsuit from canvas and whalebone, but it proved too unreliable for general use.  I wasn't until 1999, when Jari Kuosma from Finland, and Robert Pecnik of Croatia, launched a company called Bird-Man International, and the sport has never looked back.  WARNING: Base Jumping and Wingsuit Flying are considered the most dangerous sports on the planet, more than 20 die each year.  So be careful.  Only a professional should think about it.  And even then...
