About: Drew was born in Washington, USA, in 1999. His father and mother were both climbers and it was natural for Drew to enter the sport at a very young age. Growing up in an environment split between indoor gyms and natural rock, Drew developed a passion for everything from multi-pitch climbing to competitions.

Drew Ruana gets the second ascent of Daniel Wood's "Box Therapy" V16 ( 8C+ ), 18 moves of powerful micro crimps on a 50 degree slope.
Drew Ruana sends the test piece "Sleepwalker" V16/8c in Red Rocks, Nevada.
Drew Ruana spent three days in Joe's Valley and managed to send 18 of Joes Valley's hardest boulders, including the second ascent of Insurgency v14/15.
On Feb 13, 2016, Drew Ruana (16) redpointed and established "The Assassin" 5.14d/9a First Ascent at Smith Rocks, OR in Aggro Gully. He proposed a difficulty grade of 5.14d/9a which makes it the hardest route in the park. This particular line was well known for years - it was referred to by the locals as the "Triple Link" because it strung together three separate difficult rock climbs: Repeat Offender, Villain, and White Wedding.
On a climbing trip to Smith Rocks, OR over Veterans Day Holiday 2014, Drew Ruana (age 15) redpointed Just Do It 5.14c. Redpoint date 11-10-2014.

At age 13, Drew Ruana redpoints "Scarface "5.14a. Scarface is a classic and one of smith Rocks' crown jewels. It was the very first 5.14 rock climb established by an American. It is 30 meters long and requires very technical precise moves.
